While I am certainly going to tell you about the opportunities for mystery shoppers in UK and around the world, to get paid to surf, or get paid to review golf courses, movies and many other products and services offered to Secret Shoppers, I will start this page in a way that would probably horrify internet marketing gurus.
Some companies offering the sort of mystery shopping which get you to write reviews, are fly-by-night companies, who are running fee charging scams. If they offer a "free service" the chances are that they could be trying to get your email address for spamming, or worse, ID theft..
The Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MPSA), a globally respected professional body, refuses to accept as members, mystery shopping companies who charge a fee to join them as a mystery shopper. I think they are probably right to do so, too. Now, I bet that surprised you.
